SUMMER WAS FULL OF HOPE

As we prepare to open the doors of our HCM schools next week, we wanted to take a moment to share what summer looked like for our students. Schools that had been filled with lessons and exams came alive with games and laughter. Hands were lifted in worship, eager voices recited Scripture, and smiles stretched from ear to ear.Because of your faithful support, more than 600 students gathered this summer for Vacation Bible School at five HCM schools. This year's theme centered on the beautiful truth found in Luke 18:15–17: every child is precious to the Lord.

Throughout the week, students were reminded that God knows them, loves them, cares for them through every circumstance, and invites each one to follow Him.Can you imagine stepping into a room on our Fonds Parisien campus with nearly 400 children worshiping together? Their voices filled the room with songs of praise as student leaders stood confidently at the front, leading their classmates in worship. For a little while, the uncertainty and hardships outside those walls faded into the background. In that moment, they were simply children. They were laughing. They were learning. They were worshiping. They were experiencing the joy of being together in God's presence.

Across Fonds Cheval, Fonds Parisien, Fonds Verrettes, Nan Plaisir, and Thoman, students sang, danced, played games, performed skits, memorized Scripture, and shared gifts and talents they may not have had the courage to share otherwise. The greatest celebration came at Fonds Cheval, where 14 students publicly accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.  

Your generosity does so much more than provide a quality education. It creates opportunities for children to grow in their faith, build confidence, discover their God-given abilities, and experience the joy of simply being children. 

Preparing for a New School Year

Now, the excitement continues. Our schools will open next week, and this week our teachers are preparing their classrooms and gathering for teacher training to help them begin the new school year ready to serve their students. 

Please pray for our teachers and students as a new school year begins. Pray for wisdom, strength, safety, and a joyful year of learning. Most of all, pray that every HCM school will continue to be a place where children grow academically and spiritually and discover the hope of Christ. Thank you for believing in the children of Haiti and for standing with HCM as we continue helping hope thrive.
