Due to the effects of the coronavirus, we are not hosting mission trips to our campus at this time. Every day brings another area of our lives that is impacted by the Coronavirus and its global migration. Though HCM has felt its impact, ministry and community outreach will continue. This is not a time to stop reaching out to those who are hurting and afraid. Instead, we will be sharing God’s love and protection as we work together through this health crisis.
We are also praying daily for you, our global friends, who are experiencing much uncertainty during this time. We value and cherish your support and are asking God to protect you and give you a “peace that passes understanding.” (Phil 4:7) Please let us know if you or your church have any specific needs we can be praying about.
Take a Trip!
Taking a mission trip to Haiti is often a life-changing experience! The people that HCM ministers to are always blessed by mission teams. The team members also end up reaping as much benefit from the experience as those they go to serve. You’ll experience a different culture and connect with the beautiful people of Haiti. We welcome teams that are ready to work hard and come alongside us to serve and share the love of Jesus with the Haitian people!
The HCM campus is located in Fond Parisien, about 45 minutes east of the Port-au-Prince airport, nestled right off the main road that leads to the Dominican Republic. All the meals are prepared by our amazing Haitian cooks. Some of the things you will see on our campus include the Eglise Chretienne de Fonds-Parisien, (Christian Church of Fonds Parisien), the K-12 school, various trade schools, an operating peanut butter factory, Higgins Brothers Surgicenter, Christ For All Hospital, and more.
Anytime your group travels off-campus, you will have a translator with you as well as some other staff members. Here are some phrases you can practice on your own in preparation for your trip! We can’t wait to see you in Haiti soon!
Types of Mission Trips
These are typically shorter trips for teams that are just interested in seeing first-hand what HCM is doing. You’ll have the opportunity to meet some of the HCM staff, tour our facilities, experience the culture, and see how we could work together in the future!
Teams made up of medical professionals can serve with the HCM medical ministry by traveling to villages to hold mobile clinics and serving with a surgery team. We have hosted family physicians, various specialists, surgeons, dentists and optometrists. Teams normally include enough support personnel to man the triage stations and pharmacy.
Teams with experience or interest in English education can tutor students in their studies after school or assist in the English translation and interpretation courses which are held twice a week.
Teams of all ages and sizes come to hold Vacation Bible Schools and seminars in our churches and schools. Often times, you’ll have the opportunity to pray with families and church leaders over the communities, as well as help with food distributions in nearby villages.
We have had teams help build homes, benches, mission buildings and more. Often the team works alongside Haitian workers. Our needs vary from month to month. Please contact us to discuss what current needs and projects your team could help with.
Special Interest or Training Trips
If your team has a specific interest or passion for a particular subject not listed, we’d love to hear! In the past, we’ve hosted teacher trainings, pastor or church leadership trainings, worship trainings, and many others.
