EVANGELISM

All of the ministries of Haitian Christian Mission are extensions of the church. The key purpose for everything we do is to share the good news about Jesus Christ with others and to help believers in Christ grow in their faith. The starting place is Sunday services and ministry throughout the week.

We partner with fifty-seven churches in Haiti. Some of the churches were planted by HCM while others were in existence already but came to HCM for support and guidance. Several are located in and around Port-au Prince, but most are in very rural villages. Some are relatively small congregations with very meager buildings while others are much larger congregations and have more substantial buildings of higher quality. In all of them, a lead pastor and a team of volunteers speak the gospel of love to the people in their own communities.

In Haiti, pastors can have varying degrees of pastoral training. Some have no formal education. At HCM though we offer training seminars quarterly for all of our pastors and church leaders. We also host an annual pastor convention on our main campus.

In 2023, we had about 5,700 church attendees and just over 200 baptisms were performed at the 22 churches fully funded by HCM.

Many of the churches also double as schools and even medical clinics on occasion when we receive mobile medical teams. Teams also run vacation bible schools and food distribution in these buildings. More than a few are in desperate need of new walls, roofs, benches and equipment, yet they are full of life.

We have a new church partnership program that allows your church to connect with a single HCM church to finance the costs of the ministry and build a relationship with the church. This is a great way for your church to work as partners to help further God’s Kingdom in Haiti.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, A planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

Isaiah 61:1-3
