A REVERED HOMECOMING IN HAITI

Early in February, Betty returned to Haiti for the first time in over six years. Her visit carried special meaning, as February 5 marked the anniversary of Pastor Etienne’s passing. There were many tears. Tears of remembrance, gratitude, and joy. Betty shared that the campus looks beautiful and the school is doing well. Seeing God’s work continue, brought comfort and renewed hope. 

Pastor Ismel shared how meaningful it was to see Betty again. He canceled a preaching engagement so he could spend time fellowshipping with Betty at the church in Fonds Parisien. Moments like these remind us that ministry is built on relationships, not schedules. 

Betty shared how deeply encouraged she is by the way she saw God is using the leadership teams across HCM communities during her recent trip to Haiti. In the middle of ongoing challenges, pastors, principals, and local leaders are not shrinking back. They are stepping forward. They are leading wisely, faithfully, and with courage. 

Betty was especially moved by what she witnessed in Nan Plaisir, where young people are now taking ownership of key areas of ministry. Youth are not just attending church; they are helping lead it. The same steady, faithful leadership is evident in Thoman, where local leaders continue to shepherd their community well despite limited resources. These are signs of maturity, resilience, and hope taking root.
