As we approach summer, the Caribbean sun sets over the beloved land of Haiti, casting long shadows on streets not as vibrant and bustling as they once were. Despite it being relatively quiet at the moment, the situation on the ground remains tense, with gangs still asserting their control over many neighborhoods. These challenging conditions put tremendous pressure on our employees at Haitian Christian Mission (HCM). Yet, amidst these trials, we stand resilient to these challenges and stay truly dedicated to God’s work. We continue to serve, to bring hope and solace to the communities that need them most. The courage of our staff serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Haitian people and our shared commitment to making a difference.
Our Pastors Need Prayer
In the heart of these difficult times, the First Christian Church of Port-au-Prince embarks on a bold endeavor—a two-month conference centered around the pillar of society, THE FAMILY.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” - Proverbs 22:6
“Today” has become one of the most important focal points of our mission. With First Church being halfway through this significant gathering, they remain vigilant and steadfast, prepared to usher in the second month of shared insights and community bonding. We ask you to lend your prayers for the continued success of this conference, led by Pastor Rosicler. A prayer that these moments of unity remain undisturbed by the specter of gang interference.
In Simonette, Pastor Frederic stands firm in his faith, acting as a beacon of hope for those who remain in the community and those who've been forced to leave their homes. Please join us in praying for their safety, for the light of hope to guide them through these dark times and lead them back home when circumstances allow.
We lift Pastor Eddy Bernard in our prayers, a great example of a servant leader at the Fonds-Cheval Church. Every week, he braves a dangerous journey to Fonds-Cheval, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his congregation. The road is challenging, and the risk is very real. Yet his resolve remains unbroken. Join us in sending prayers for his protection and safety, so that he may continue his divine mission unscathed.
As we move forward, we humbly ask for your continued prayers and support. The journey is long, the path often uncertain, and yet we are driven by our unwavering faith and the belief in a better future for Haiti. We need your support for our campus needs, to ensure we can provide a safe and conducive environment for our work and the communities we serve. Every donation, every prayer, and every word of encouragement fuels our resolve and brings us a step closer to our shared vision.
