A TEACHER'S NEW BEGINNING IN CHRIST

Mr. Jean Dieulers Alexis has been a faithful teacher at Christ for All School in Fonds-Parisien for more than 41 years. Known for his dedication and integrity, he has impacted generations of students and earned deep respect within the community. 

Yet, despite working in a Christian school where faith is part of daily life, Mr. Alexis had never personally accepted Jesus Christ. For many years, faith was something he observed from a distance, meaningful for others, but not essential for himself. Though invited many times to accept Christ, he consistently declined.

But over time, something began to change. Through ongoing conversations with pastors and colleagues, moments of reflection, and exposure to Scripture, God began working in his heart. Verses like “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23) started to speak to him in a deeply personal way.

As Scripture reminds us in John 6:44, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.” God was drawing Mr. Alexis, and this time, he answered.

With humility and sincerity, he prayed, confessing his sins and placing his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In that moment, he experienced a peace and assurance he had never known before.

Not long after, Mr. Alexis took the next step in his faith journey and was baptized, publicly declaring his new life in Christ in front of pastors, colleagues, and friends. After more than four decades of standing on the outside of faith, he boldly proclaimed, “I belong to Christ.” 

Today, Mr. Alexis continues teaching, but with a renewed purpose and transformed heart. His classroom remains a place of learning, but now it is also a place where grace, humility, and faith shine through his life.

His story is a powerful reminder this Easter: it is never too late.

As 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, “The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” No matter how long someone has lived without Christ, the invitation remains open.
