History of Carrefour New York, Croix des Bouquets
Carrefour New York, Croix des Bouquets, is located along Route Nationale #3 and is home to about 30,000 people. Most families survive by working as street vendors, selling small items to earn just enough to put food on the table. Jobs are scarce, and daily life is marked by hardship and uncertainty. Yet in the midst of these challenges, God is opening doors for hope and transformation through His church.
About the Church and its Pastor
Église Chrétienne de la Croix des Bouquets / Carrefour New York was founded in 2011 and today welcomes around 143 people each week to worship, learn, and grow in their faith. The church is led by Pastor Robert Vexilus, who has been faithfully serving in ministry for 18 years. At 47 years old, Pastor Robert is married to Christianie (43), and together they have one child. In addition to shepherding the congregation in Carrefour, Pastor Robert also oversees four other HCM churches in the communities of Courette, Grand-Bois, and Cornillon. His leadership and heart for discipleship continue to multiply the impact of the Gospel across the region.
Success in the Community
The people of Carrefour New York have responded to the Gospel in remarkable ways. Many have given their lives to Christ, and the church continues to grow rapidly. Each week, new believers are discipled and families are strengthened through the ministry of the church.
Challenges in Carrefour
Although the church is thriving spiritually, there are practical needs that limit growth. Currently, the congregation does not have enough benches, and many people must bring their own chairs in order to attend services. A sound system is also needed to enhance worship and music, helping to strengthen the church’s ministry.
A Vision for the Future
Pastor Robert believes that with benches, a sound system, and the ongoing support of HCM partners, the church in Carrefour New York can reach new levels of impact for Christ. By God’s grace, these resources will allow the church to continue growing, discipling, and reaching more people with the Good News.
