Lonnie has been traveling to Haiti for over 25 years. She has been taking medical teams from the medical ministry of FAME to serve with HCM for 12 years now. Currently, she serves as the Director of Short-term Trips with FAME and also serves on the Board of Directors at HCM. Lonnie has a lot of experience in mobilizing short-term teams to countries all over the world. Her passion is to equip people to go and partner with local national leaders for the purpose of taking Christ to the unreached and underserved through the implementation of sustainable community healthcare. Lonnie has 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter.
Dr. Guesly Dessieux was born in Cap Haitien, Haiti and immigrated to the U.S. as a child. He went on to attend medical school and during his residency, he took a weeklong trip to HCM with a FAME medical team. Now he leads medical teams to Haiti at least once a year and has started a separate non-profit, Project Living Hope, that will partner with HCM to build a multipurpose sports complex and community center in Fonds-Parisien. He and his wife, Sara, live in Stayton, Oregon with their three children and Guesly practices family medicine.
Chris joined the HCM board in the fall of 2014. Chris is the Missions Associate at Kingsway Christian Church in Avon, Indiana. He has served in local church ministry since 1992. Chris has been leading teen mission trips for 17 years as a youth minister and is excited to lead Kingsway’s missions work these past four years. Chris is married to Teresa and they have two daughters.
Dr. Serge Geffrard is a native of Haiti. He migrated to the United States at age 15. After graduating high school in Miami, he attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies and medical school. As a sophomore medical student, Dr. Geffrard organized his first medical mission trip to Haiti in 1996. Dr. Geffrard specializes in pediatric cardiology and practices in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Geffrard has worked with the Haitian Christian Mission since 2004 and has been on the HCM board of directors since 2012.
Mike Tvedt first traveled to Haiti in 2011. After the earthquake in 2010, Mike’s church, Bethel in Richland, Washington was looking for partners to help in Haiti. HCM was the perfect partner and over the last four years 100 members of Bethel have traveled to Haiti working alongside HCM in their many ministries. Mike joined the HCM board in 2011 and currently serves as Board Chair. Mike has worked in the restaurant business for over 40 years and is married to Michelle. They have three beautiful and amazing daughters.
